Pat McCormack Beats Robbie Davies Jr With Ease
2020 Olympic silver medalist and welterweight prospect Pat McCormack (7-0, 5KO) stopped veteran Robbie Davies Jr (24-6, 15KO).
McCormack fought behind that jab like a seasoned veteran. His ability to get in and out, avoiding any return-fire, was on full display.
His speed, footwork, and accurate punching kept Davies in defense mode. McCormack couldn’t miss with the right hand and put his opponent on the canvas twice in round three.
As the fight continued, it was target practice for the undefeated Brit. At some point, Davies’ corner needed to decide whether to stop the fight. McCormack didn’t let up and continued to apply pressure-fighting and landing hard shots off the front foot.
After getting knocked down for a third time in round five, Davies’s corner stopped the fight at the end of the sixth round.
McCormack could challenge for the British title against Conah Walker next
