Price Gets New Opponent; Faces Kuzmin September 22

Price moving to the under-card of Joshua vs Povetkin Wembley

Initially, David Price was set to take on Sean Turner on October 5 in Belfast, but withdrew unexpectantly. Shortly after, his intent on the withdrawal became apparent.

Price will be back in action two weeks earlier against Sergey Kuzmin (12-0 9KO) on the under-card of Joshua-Povetkin. The undefeated Kuzmin is a more difficult opponent with power in both hands.

He is coming off a sixth round knockout win over Jeremiah Karpency; younger brother of light heavyweight contender Tommy Karpency.

His most notable bout was a technical draw against Amir Mansour. The fight came to a halt in the third round due to both men enduring brutal cuts from a head clash.

However, days later, the decision was changed to a no-contest due to a positive drug test submitted by Mansour.

We last saw Price in a knockout loss to the challenger in the main event of the card he will be on, Alexander Povetkin.

He continues to be adamant about taking the tough challenges, regardless of his reputation. His decision to take on Kuzmin is a manifestation of the sentiment.

The Anthony Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin card will kickoff the DAZN boxing project on September 22.
