Regis Prograis Signed Up and Ready for Devin Haney Bout
Apparently, WBC super lightweight champion Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (29-1, 24 KO’s) has signed half of a contract for a fourth quarter showdown with undisputed lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (30-0, 15 KO’s). The two have been lining up for a bigtime showdown for years and now it looks like Prograis has pulled his portion of the trigger. And as he explained to EsNews, Rougarou believes that Haney will get dusted and disgusted on fight night.
“So listen, me and Haney is happening! I don’t have a location, I don’t have a date but we are official!”
“I signed my part, it’s on him to sign his part . . . I’m stopping Haney! I don’t give a fuck what nobody say, I am stopping Haney! No matter what he got, I am stopping Haney and if I don’t, I am going to hurt him for twelve rounds. I guarantee that I hurt him for twelve rounds!”
WHAT THINGS MAY COME
This brand of tough talk should not surprise anyone who is even remotely familiar with Prograis. This is because the two-time world champion foresees hurting and stopping just about all of his opposition before the duel. Collecting the scalp of the other fighter would come with huge kudos for whoever walked away the victor. Yet, as the resident “big man” in the battle, Prograis may have even more pressure to be physically dominant in the scrap.
Before we get too far ahead of ourselves mentally storyboarding how the fight will unravel, let’s first get word of an official announcement. While all signs are pointing to this prizefight taking place, we will have to maintain a certain level of skepticism until both sides are singing the same tune, publicly. Thankfully though, no matter what news or curveball boxing throws, 3Kings Boxing will be here to report all the latest developments.
