Prospect Ferris Dixon Jr Looking For Big Rookie Year!
Detroit, Michigan has been a breeding ground for world class boxers for years. Ferris Dixon Jr hopes to be the next in a long line of Detroit born champions. If he can bring the same level of success he found in the amateur ranks as a professional he will no doubt find his name amongst the other Motor City greats.
Making his professional debut September 30, 2021 in his home state, Dixon amazed Michigan fight fans with an 11 second destruction of his opponent. The man they call “Boomer” opened up with a beautiful lead left hook followed by a destructive right hand that sent adversary Harvey Bundridge crashing to the canvas.
When asked about his pro debut
“I’m excited to show people what I can do. I’ve waited for this moment my entire life.”
The Team Cartel product has in fact been preparing for this moment for a long time. Success in the ring is nothing new to the 18 year old prospect. A decorated amateur that won multiple national championships, the list of accolades could fill up a page on its own.
Coming from a team of decorated amateurs and undefeated up and coming professionals, Team Cartel has no shortage of quality sparring partners for young Dixon.
“He’s a good young boxer with an inside game that Marvelous Marvin Hagler would smile at. His upside is Ridiculous!”
Khalil Harvey Sr – Head Trainer for Dixon
Next up, the 2020 Olympic Trial alternate will look to make it 2-0 as he travels to Louisville Kentucky to fight on the November 20 Eskeridge Enterprise fight card. If his second fight is anything like the first expect a quick night at the office. While the ceiling for Dixon seems to be incredibly high, for now we will just have to keep a close eye on his rookie year as he looks to remain active and grow as a professional.
