IBF #1 rated fighter Kubrat Pulev, put his position on the line against Bogdan Dinu. Therefore, there would be major opportunities for the winner!

The fight started with both men trying to find their rhythm by using the jabs and fighting on the outside. Pulev was doing an excellent job of using the feints while working behind the jab. The former world title contender was starting to take control of the fight.

Dinu had success throwing quick combinations; showing improvements from the loss to Jarrell Miller. The Romanian would be more aggressive, which paid off in the fourth round with a hard right hand that opened up a major cut over his opponent’s eye.

This was just the start of the drama of the fight, as Dinu would attack with vigor. It would appear he gassed himself, as he took a round off in the fifth.

Pulev would remain calm and reestablish command of the fight; throwing combinations and landing the big right-hand. In the seventh round, he would send the challenger to the canvas. However, there was a point deduction resulting from a punch to the back of the head while Dinu was down.

After being given sometime to see if he could continue, the challenger would decide to fight on.

Pulev, realizing his opponent was on unstable legs, continued to pressure with hard right-hands. After scoring two more knock downs, the referee stopped the fight with seconds left in a memorable seventh round.

Looking Forward
