Quigg fine to be split between Valdez and CSAC
Well folks here we go, as another fighter misses weight. Scott Quigg who is set to take on Oscar Valdez tomorrow night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California was the culprit.
A bout that was scheduled to be for WBO Featherweight Title, is now no longer as Quigg weighed in at 128.6 lbs. That’s 2.6 lbs over the 126 featherweight limit and now it has become a non title bout.
As a result of Quigg coming in overweight he will now be fined 20% of his purse. With 10% going to Valdez and 10% going to the commission in California. The fight will go on as scheduled live on ESPN.
It’s a very unfortunate turn of events and hopefully we can still get a good fight tomorrow night. As for Quigg, it’s a shot lost to fight for the title due to his negligence.
