Eduardo Ramírez Gets Revenge on Leduan Barthelemy!
Two years is all it took for Eduardo Ramírez to get revenge on Leduan Barthelemy. Back in September of 2017, the two men met and battled to an unsatisfying draw. Both men felt they won the initial meeting. However, it was all Ramírez on November 23 as he just built momentum from the opening round up until round four.
Both men, fighting out of the southpaw stance, started out slow. As the action began to heat up, it was Ramírez who did majority of the punching. Barthelemy’s only option was retreating backwards. He would occasionally throw combinations but could not find his rhythm against his active opponent.
In rounds three and four, he turned the pressure up to a blistering pace that Barthelemy just couldn’t deal with. A right hook by Ramírez would send him crashing down to the canvas. Beating the count wasn’t good enough, as the referee waved off the bout as Barthelemy was clearly shaken on wobbly legs.
Ramírez improves his record to 22-2-3, 10 KOs, while Barthelemy’s record drops to 15-1-1, 7 KOs.
