Ramon Cardenas Gets Off The Canvas To Beat Bryan Acosta
In a super bantamweight showdown, #2 rated WBA contender Ramon “Dinamita” Cardenas (26-1, 14KO) escaped with a victory over Bryan “Latino” Acosta (20-1, 8KO) in a tough fight.
Dinamita started on fire by landing the right hand and hard counter shots. His ability to change levels and slip punches frustrated the undefeated Acosta.
Latino finally came alive in the middle rounds, landing the straight right hand. As this became a phonebooth fight, Acosta found a home for those hooks to the body.
Yet, Cardenas took advantage of the taller man not using a jab and hurt Acosta with hard right hands.
In round seven, Acosta turned things in his favor after dropping Cardenas with a brutal left hook.
As the fight continued, it turned into a back alley brawl. Cardenas marched forward, landing uppercuts and hard right hands. Yet, Acosta attacked repeatedly with body shots, uppercuts, and hooks.
When the final bell sounded, two judges scored it 95-94, and one judge had it 97-92. The last scorecard was terrible, but 3kingsboxing agrees the right fighter won.
This fight is worthy of a rematch. However, team Cardenas will probably look to fight for the title next.
