Reece Bellotti Scores The Stoppage Over Michael Gomez Jr
In a fight that featured two junior lightweights who dislike each other, Reece “Bomber” Bellotti (20-5, 15KO) stops Michael Gomez Jr (21-2, 6KO)
Those who were expecting to see a shootout saw a boxing lesson instead. The Bomber did a good job of keeping the fight in the center of the ring. In addition, he used quick combination punches behind the jab that forced Gomez to reset repeatedly.
Gomez was coming forward applying the pressure, but couldn’t put together a solid attack. His inability to adjust slowed down from body shots in the middle rounds.
After dropping Gomez with a body shot in round five, Bellotti attacked the body like a demon over the next couple of rounds.
In round eight, Gomez did a little better and landed a hard right hand, but was quickly dropped again by another brutal hook to the body.
After that painful ninth round, Gomez’s corner refused to let their man continue. It was a solid win for Bellotti. But, in this author’s opinion, he isn’t ready for the world level yet.
