Regis Prograis Responds to Ryan Garcia with a Direct Threat!

WBC junior welterweight champion Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (28-1, 24KO) is looking for the next opponent. Former WBC interim lightweight titlist Ryan “King Ry” Garcia (23-0, 19KO) has managed to get Prograis’ attention. During a Q&A with fans on social media, Garcia made a statement that set Prograis off.

Ryan Garcia says he would knockout Regis Prograis

In fairness, during an interview with FightHype, Prograis stated that Garcia would be a cakewalk when asked about the potential match-up.

“I feel like Ryan would be cake. I really feel like Ryan would be a cakewalk, bro. I ain’t going to lie . . . I don’t have to even train for him . . . I think Ryan is a pretty boy. I don’t think he got that dog in him like that.”

PROGRAIS ISSUES A WARNING TO GARCIA

Some fans believe Garcia’s response is warranted, considering what the WBC champion said. On July 16, 2022, Garcia despite being ranked at lightweight, announced the desire to move up for anything short of a fight with multi-divisional champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis.

Garcia is supposed to fight Davis with a target date in April. In addition, he decided against taking a tune-up and is willing to wait for the Davis fight.

Prograis has been combative with everyone in or around the division. Furthermore, he is coming off a dominating performance against three-time title challenger Jose Zepeda. So it comes as no shock that he wasted no time responding to Garcia’s comments, suggesting that he wouldn’t make it to the Davis fight if they meet.
