Lewis Ritson to take on Andy Townend in comeback bout March 23
Lightweight prospect Lewis Ritson (17-1, 11Kos) will look to get one back in the win column when he takes on Andy Townend (22-4, 14 KOs).
Back in October, the then-unbeaten Ritson took on Francesco Patera. There, we would see Ritson’s flaws on full display.
Known for his high punch activity and come-forward style, he was neutralized by the veteran.
He would go on to lose that fight by a split decision; a result most fans and boxing pundits didn’t see coming.
Fast forward to 2019 and the once highly-touted prospect is ready to put all that behind him.
Townend, who’s primarily fought on the domestic level, is riding a six-fight win streak. Having seen Ritson’s last performance has to give him the confidence and belief he can hand the young fighter his second consecutive defeat.
For Ritson, this is a chance to show the world what he learned from the mistakes he made in his fight with Patera, in addition to what improvements he’s made.
