Oscar Rivas Working Towards Co-promotional Deal with Eddie Hearn

Oscar Rivas appears to be headed to DAZN. His promoter, Yvon Michel, has revealed that he is currently in negotiations with Eddie Hearn on a long-term deal. The deal would see both Michel and Hearn spear-head the career of Rivas as he attempts another run at heavyweight glory.

In his last fight on July 20, he disappointed as he lost a clear unanimous decision to fellow top heavyweight contender and WBC mandatory Dillian Whyte. The fight was deemed a 50/50 battle before the action commenced. However, Whyte would out-box and hurt Rivas multiple times on his way to victory. Rivas did manage to score a knockdown in what would be the only highlight for him in the fight.

Before facing Whyte, Rivas had defeated former world title challenger and longtime contender Bryant Jennings, stopping him in round 12.

Hearn has a deep stable of heavyweight contenders. A deal here would provide Rivas an opportunity to climb his way back into heavyweight title contention. Those names include Anthony Joshua, Hughie Fury, Alexander Povetkin, Joseph Parker, Dereck Chisora and Michael Hunter.

The road won’t be easy for Rivas, but the opportunities are endless.
