Rolando Romero Targets Ohara Davies; Saving Ryan Garcia For Later!

WBA regular junior welterweight champion Rolando “Rolly” Romero (15-1, 13KO) has come to terms with the fact that he cannot avoid a fight with mandatory challenger Ohara “Two Tanks” Davies (25-2, 18KO) any longer. In addition, he has vowed to put a beating on Davies and then move on to fight “King” Ryan Garcia (23-1, 19KO).

Team Romero had been actively pursuing a fight with Ryan Garcia. However, Davies’ refusal to step aside has caused frustration for the WBA regular champion. The British challenger’s relentless pursuit of the WBA title, and his attempt to block the Garcia fight has proven to be a hindrance.

On July 15, while attending the fight between lightweights Frank Martin and Artem Harutyunyan, Romero addressed the situation when answering questions by members of the media.

“I’ll be honest with you, as much as I want the Ryan shit to happen, Ohara Davies wants to be a fun sponge and doesn’t want to shut the fuck up. So you know we’re going to have to deal with his bitch ass.

“Let’s fuck his ass up, and then you know Ryan Garcia next.”

Davies was awarded the mandatory position after the WBA ruled that the winner featuring Romero versus Ismael Barroso must fight him.

In reality, to keep the belt, Romero had no choice but to accept the fact that Two Tanks is next. Boxing fans should prepare for the verbal insults to start flying as there is some bad blood between these two fighters that goes back to an old sparring session.
