Srisaket Sor Rungvisai makes easy work in home title defense.
WBC super flyweight kingpin Srisaket Sor Rungvisai dispatched Gil Young Bae in a one round destruction!
In the opening stanza we saw the powerful and awkward Rungvisai apply high pressure as he stalked his over-matched opponent.
Landing shot after powerful shot, Rungvisai had his opponent on his wheels trying to evade the continuous onslaught.
Finally, the champion pinned the challenger in the corner on the ropes and teed off. Bae dropped right as the bell sounded to end the round. However, there would be no second round as the referee quickly waved it off.
As of now, Rungvisai is set for a return on October 6 in Thailand again. Many expected his next fight to be staged in the U.S. as a title defense at super flyweight.
However, unbeknownst to most fans, this fight took place within the super bantamweight limit (122lbs).
Could Rungvisai be making a move out of super flyweight? Or, was dealing with the personal issues involving his longtime girlfriend the culprit for the extra weight?
The plans Rungvisai eventually reveals about what’s next should answer these questions.
