Ryan Martin Wants A Top Contender Next & Eyes Maurice Hooker!
Former World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) tournament participant and junior welterweight contender Ryan “Blue Chip” Martin (23-1, 13KO) is eager to get himself back as one of the top contenders in the division.
Since losing in the first round of the tournament against unified champion and eventual winner, Josh Taylor, Martin returned in June to get a sixth round KO over Carlos Velasquez. He understands he has a tough road ahead in attempting to make a comeback.
Which is why the 27 year-old is not looking to take tune-ups. He wants to take on another top contender to get his name quickly back in the mix.
One name he mentions is former WBO junior welterweight champion Maurice Hooker! Does Martin have what it takes to be a serious problem? Will he wreak havoc in the division or will he be removed from contention once again?
