Saunders Denied License by MSAC; Set to be Stripped by WBO

Saunders denied License by the MSAC. Possibility of losing WBO title is high!

It appears that WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders will be stripped of his title after the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission (MSAC) denied him a license for his scheduled October 20 title defense against Demetrius Andrade.

The WBO previously stated that if he was denied a license, he would indeed be stripped of his title. He recently turned in a positive test for oxilofrine; a stimulant that’s used to treat low blood pressure. Frank Warren who promotes Saunders stated he would take legal action against the MSAC if they denied his fighter a license.

3kingsboxingpreviously reported in the following article that Andrade would still fight for a title regardless of the decision made by the MSAC and the WBO.

The opponent will be Walter Kautondokwa (17-0, 16KOs) from Namibia. However, they will meet for the WBO interim title instead.
