Billy Joe Saunders breaks silence since his perceived quit job against Canelo Alvarez!


It has been a whirlwind past couple of days for former WBO Super Middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders (30-1, 14KOs). The former champion has been under constant criticism since his perceived quit job against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (56-1–2, 38KOs) on May 8. In a closely contested bout, the outspoken British fighter would seemingly pull his own version of “no mas”.

A counter-right uppercut from Alvarez would be the cause of the unwillingness of Saunders to continue in the biggest fight of his career. Opinions on his decision range from defending him to others declaring that he tucked his tail and quit. However, many people wanted to hear from Saunders himself.

In his statement, he revealed the not-surprising news of his reported broken orbital bone. Though, he also revealed that he suffered a broken cheek bone In three different places. He underwent successful surgery, in which he says he will bounce back from.

To be honest, it is going to be very intriguing to see how Saunders comes back from this. Not only does he face the question of his heart, he will also have to deal with the uncertainty of how his eye and cheek will hold up once he returns to action and start taking punches again.
