Seniesa Estrada New July 24 Opponent

Similar to the rest of the world, interim WBA flyweight and WBC silver junior flyweight titlist Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada (18-0, 7 KO’s) has had to make a great deal of adjustments living in this COVID-19 ravaged world. Initially, as she told to Fight Hub TV, all the alterations such as lack of facilities and sparring, coupled with a topsy-turvy daily schedule, became quite a hindrance. Now, her next hurdle centers around facing a whole new opponent.

Initially, Estrada was slated to face Jacky Calvo (12-5-2, 1 KO’s) on July 24. However, that was before Calvo had to withdraw due to a knee injury. The Californian boxer is certainly disappointed that her first foe fell through. Still, she is very thankful that the same date maintained and new opposition materialized. Now, Estrada will test her might against the challenge of former kickboxer Miranda Adkins (5-0, 5 KO’s).

“No, I am not fighting Jacky Calvo, she has a knee injury. She was willing to fight me at a later date since our original date got canceled. So Jacky has a knee injury, so we couldn’t get her and then we were trying to get a few other girls that we had in mind.”

“And it was just difficult with the whole travel situation; Visa situation for everybody. So the safest thing was to get an opponent in the US. Because we didn’t want any last minute problems with travel or anything like that. So my opponent is Miranda Adkins from Kansas.”

MOVING DOWN TO SHAKE IT UP

While Seniesa Estrada is not looking past Adkins, she definitely has her mind’s eye focused on a number of future goals. She feels perfectly comfortable at flyweight. Yet, she has significant desires to drop down in weight to secure world titles in the next two divisions below. However, beyond mere wishful thinking, Super Bad and her team have already begun piecing together a tentative plan of action.

“Well I am defending my 108 [WBC silver junior flyweight] belt on the 24. But yeah, before I even think about fighting for a belt at 112, I definitely want to fight at 105 and 108 and get world titles there first. So one opponent that we were looking to fight was Annabelle Ortiz, who has the 105lbs WBA title, and then also Yesenia Gomez who has the 108lbs WBC title. So those are two big fights I definitely want, and then whoever is a champion at 105 and 108 I’d like to fight first before fighting at 112.”

WHAT’S NEXT?

If victorious over Adkins, then it will be very interesting to see who Estrada pens a fight with next. Stay tuned to 3kingsboxing.com for all the latest boxing news and updates.
