Franchon Crews-Dezurn Regains WBC Belt & Tellez Wins by KO

At times, the action was sloppy. But in the end, former undisputed 168-pound champion Franchon “The Heavy-Hitting Diva” Crews-Dezurn (9-2, 2 KOs) walked away with a unanimous (98-92, 97-93, 92-93) over Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green (13-1, 11 KOs) to capture the vacant WBC and WBA Interim super middleweight titles.

Fighting at the Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando, Florida Crews-Dezurn set the tone in the early rounds with sheer aggression. She smothered and swarmed Green, who found it tough dealing with the constant pressure.

Green started to adjust by taking a half-step back and using the jab to create space for the right hand to the head and body. But despite switching up her attack, The Sweet Terminator couldn’t land consistently.

During the last half of the contest, Crews-Dezurn was the more effective fighter. Green’s vaunted punching power never came into play. Crews-Dezurn was simply hungrier and fought with more determination.

The Heavy-Hitting Diva won this battle because of her work-rate and vast experience at the world championship level. Afterward, she called for a rematch with unified champion Savannah Marshall, who defeated Crews-Dezurn in July 2023.

YOENIS TELLEZ WINS IMPRESSIVE STOPPAGE OVER LIVAN NAVARRO

In a battle of Cuban junior middleweights, Yoenis Tellez (7-0, 6 KOs) scored a tenth-round knockout over Livan Navarro (15-2, 9 KOs) at the Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando, Florida.

After an opening round in which Navarro came out aggressively, Tellez took control. With a minute to go in the third, a right hand from Tellez stunned Navarro, and a follow-up series of punches put him down. Navarro was hurt again in the closing seconds of the round.

Tellez continued to pepper his countryman with combinations to the head and body throughout the middle rounds. Navarro fought hard and connected with an occasional power punch. But Tellez was landing far more frequently. He was wearing his adversary down and beating him up.

At the halfway mark of the tenth, Tellez ended matters with a highlight-reel left hook that knocked Navarro out cold! Going past six rounds for the first time in his career, Tellez showed why some insiders consider him a fighter with real promise.
