Claressa Shields Eyes 154 with Natasha Jonas and Terri Harper in Mind!
Three-time undisputed champion Claressa “T-Rex” Shields (13-0, 2KO) continues to look at making history. She just scored her most satisfying career-victory against rival Savannah Marshall on October 15. Now T-Rex is looking at a possible return to junior middleweight to become a four-time undisputed champion.
SHIELDS COULD BE GOING BACK TO JUNIOR MIDDLEWEIGHT
With everyone asking ‘what is next’, Shields, in an interview with Behind The Gloves, was very candid about returning to junior middleweight to fight WBA champion Terri Harper and unified champion Natasha Jonas.
“I would love to come back over here in the UK and fight. Or, have some of the UK fighters come to America and fight me up at 154. Terri Harper is a new champ, Natasha Jonas is a new champ […] so right now, 154 is rocking right now.”
Shields still left the door open for a rematch with Marshall, as both women made history by headlining an all-female fight card.
“If she wants the fight again, I’m quite sure we can figure it out. But, I just want to make history.”
If the three-divisional is to go back down, the logical fight would probably be with Harper. Jonas is already busy with a unification against two-time champion Marie Eve Dicaire, who is a former Shields victim.
