Former champion forced to withdraw
Former junior middleweight champion Liam Smith has withdrawn from his fight against WBO junior middleweight champion Sadam Ali. The bout was scheduled for May 12 at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York.
Ali’s promoter Eric Gomez, the president of Golden Boy Promotions, confirmed to 3KingsBoxing.com that Smith’s promoter Frank Warren told him that Smith would be unable to fight due to “an allergic reaction to something.”
Gomez also said that Golden Boy was working on finding a replacement opponent as soon as possible. As news becomes available 3KingsBoxing.com will keep you updated.
