Spence eyes Terence Crawford as one of his next three opponents!
Errol “The Truth” Spence (26-0, 21KOs) is a determined man who has undisputed glory on his mind. How much so? That he already has his hit list mapped out!
With it being reported that Spence will face Danny Garcia (37-2, 21KOs) in the fall, who are the remaining two guys on his hit list?
The unified welterweight champion revealed to Showtime’s Brian Custer in their interview on his The Last Stand podcast that before he moves up in weight, he wants to tangle with WBA welterweight champion and surefire future Hall Of Famer Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39KOs) and WBO welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (37-0, 26KOs), presumably in 2021.
Custer told us the following about Spence targeting the other two welterweight champions, in particular Terence Crawford.
“He was, he said three fights, he said three fights at 147. The last one he said would be Terence Crawford and you will hear in the interview he talks about that and tells us when he anticipates that fight happening. He does say it will happen.”
SPENCE AND CRAWFORD WANT TO BE UNDISPUTED BUT HAS UNFINISHED BUSINESS!
It’s well known that to be undisputed in this day and era, you must accumulate all four sanctioning body titles. Spence is currently half way there, as he holds the IBF and WBC titles. The remaining two belong to Pacquaio and Crawford. While fans eagerly await the ultimate showdown between the top two guys at 147, there is another worthy challenger that has a say in who will become undisputed champion.
That guy is Manny Pacquiao, who is a wanted man by both Spence and Crawford!
“I think both of them have what I call unfinished business though in their division. I know Errol, his point was when he fights Terence Crawford, he wants to be the undisputed welterweight champion of the world. So what does that mean? That means you got to get that other belt, that WBA belt. That’s why he wants Manny Pacquiao as well. Terence Crawford said the same thing, ‘when I fight Errol, I want to be the undisputed welterweight champion of the world.’ So what does that mean? If you’re Terence Crawford, you need that Manny Pacquiao belt, which is a fight both of those guy want before they fight each other because when they face each other, they want it to be for the undisputed welterweight championship of the world.”
With Spence roaring to go, it seems as if it’s only a matter of time before we get these big welterweight title fights signed, sealed and delivered to fight fans all over the world in 2021! Let’s keep our fingers crossed that all participants continue on the path towards the ultimate welterweight showdown, culminating with Errol Spence V Terence Crawford. That is, unless the great Pacquiao has another upset in him.
