In their bad blood rematch, featherweight fighter Stephen “Scooter” Fulton (23-1, 8 KO’s) defeated nemesis WBC champion Brandon “The Heartbreaker” Figueroa (25-2-1, 19 KO’s) by way of unanimous decision. With the win, Fulton strong-armed The Heartbreaker for his WBC featherweight title. Unlike their first encounter this duel was much more reserved and measured affair.

Each man would begin the match behind responsible jabs while searching for the proper striking range. Yet, it was Scooter who fell into his rhythm first. While generally working off his back foot, Fulton chewed Figueroa up with sharp counters as he lumbered into punching range. To his credit The Heartbreaker soldiered on like a professional but had little to be proud about over the first half of the bout. Over the course of the second half of the prizefight however, Figueroa was able to increase his pressure and output.

Sadly for him however, his pressure was not enough to sway the overall momentum of the battle. As a result, when the match went to the scorecards Fulton claimed the victory by unanimous decision with the scores of 116-112 (twice) and 117-111.
