Shakur Stevenson blasts away Viorel Simion in round one with three knockdowns!
Stevenson blew through his much more experienced opponent with a three-knockdown round one performance. Criticized beforehand by Simion for not yet having his man strength, he brutally put an end to that sentiment.
The young prospect came out patient looking to counter. Simion threw a lazy jab the prospect countered with a big right hook, putting his opponent down. Moments later, a clearly hurt Simion was yet again put down after suffering an attack downstairs to the body.
The final knockdown came with just a few seconds left in the opening stanza. The New Jersey native, one of boxing’s future stars, improves his record to 9-0, 5 KOs.
Stevenson becomes the first guy to drop and stop Simion in his twelve year career. With this performance, more eyes will no doubt be on the young fighter.
