On February 22, Wilder was dethroned Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 22KOs) in stunning and devastating fashion as he was dropped twice en route to a seventh round TKO loss in their rematch. Afterwards people immediately began call for Wilder to make huge changes to his corner.

After voicing his displeasure about trainer Mark Breland after learning it was he who threw in the towel, the former champion revealed that he was contemplating ending their working relationship.

After having a couple of days to calm down and reflect, he announced that Breland will remain apart of his team.

Tarver one of the better fighters in his era, took to his social media account to offer the dethroned champion his services. A southpaw with respected skills and power could bring something interesting to the “Bronze Bomber” and his arsenal.

WILL WILDER MAKE A TRAINER CHANGE?

Wilder is an extremely loyal guy and has maintained the same team for the majority of his career. While it would probably serve him well to bring in another trainer to replace Breland, that’s likely not going to be the case.

However, if he does listen to the people around him and decides to make a switch he and Tarver could be a real interesting duo. Even if he doesn’t make a switch, the addition of Tarver could be a great benefit.

Confidence, athleticism and punching ability has never been Wilder’s issue. It’s the lack of technical and fundamental skills and ring IQ that has plagued and finally caught up with him.
