Tsendbaatar Erdenebat Easily Defeats Frency Saya
In a junior lightweight showdown, Tsendbaatar “Chinggis Khaan” Erdenebat (11-0, 5KO) remained undefeated after beating Frency Fortunato (15-2, 11KO).
Chinggis Khaan fought at a tremendous pace, throwing punches in bunches from different angles. He did a good job cutting off the ring and pinning the Dominican against the ropes before unloading hard shots.
Fortunato repeatedly showed a chin as he took hard shots. However, he managed to land the occasional straight right hand, taking advantage of Erdenebat’s overaggressiveness.
Fortunato found success with combination punches. Despite not fighting at the same pace from earlier, Erdenebat still landed the more eye-catching shots. He started to come forward and threw various shots on the inside.
Erdenebat played with Fortunato by sticking out his tongue. He should have pushed the pace more, as it was clear he had another gear, but never went into it.
In the closing rounds, Fortunato threw caution to the wind and started attacking the body. Yet, Erdenebat quickly regained momentum with movement and counter-shots.
Two judges scored it 98-92, and one saw it 100-90 in favor of Erdenebat.
