Keith Thurman and Manny Pacquiao in talks for a summer PPV showdown!
3kingsboxing.com has learned Super WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman and WBA regular champion Manny Pacquiao are working on a deal to meet in a summer showdown!
This fight has always seemed like the most logical matchup for each man who were both victorious in bouts a week apart of each other.
Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39KO) scored a unanimous decision victory over Adrien Broner on January 19.
The following, Thurman made his ring return after being out of action for nearly two years. He overcame adversity while shaking off the ring rust to defeated Josesito Lopez by unanimous decision.
In the post fight interview, Thurman called out Pacquiao for his next bout. The six-division champion had been expected to face Errol Spence next after he entered the ring post Spence being announced the victor over Mikey Garcia.
However, when Pacquiao recently released a poll on Twitter asking fans who he should fight next that had the IBF champions name missing from it, that was an indication Spence would not be next for him.
Nevertheless, a win for either man will likely lead to a high stakes unification bout with a possible Spence vs Shawn Porter unification; a fight that appears will happen in the summer as well.
While no deal is finalized, it’s expected to be complete in the coming weeks!
