Brown vs Nicolson Rematch Next Is The Most Likely Outcome

Newly crowned WBC featherweight champion Tiara “The Dark Menace” Brown (19-0, 11KO) and former champion Skye Nicolson (12-1, 1KO) rematch is possibly next.

The Dark Menace has been calling for a shot at Nicolson, and when the time arrived, she showed up. Brown landed more shots on the elusive Nicolson than any other fighter. Her ability to be successful was due to effective aggression, forcing Nicholson into a dog fight.

After ten hard rounds, one judge scored it 96-94 for Nicholson, while the other two judges saw in favor of Brown 96-94 and 97-93. When looking at whats next for Brown there is one option that makes the most sense.

Brown could go on and wait to see if a shot with unified champion Amanda Serrano can happen. However, Serrano is headed into a trilogy with undisputed junior welterweight champion Katie Taylor. She could look toward a unification with IBF champion Nina Menke.

Yet, a rematch with Nicolson is what could be on the table for more money. Matchroom Boxing Chairman Eddie Hearn will undoubtedly make it a top priority to push for them to run it back again next. In this author’s opinion, Brown should look to challenge Menke, then rematch the Australian in a bigger fight with more on the line.

If the rematch happens, Nicolson must learn how to adjust to that pressure. The next few months will be interesting as Brown is now on top of the world.
