Tim Tszyu Looking to Dispose of Tony Harrison Sooner Than Later!
Top junior middleweight contender Tim “The Soul Taker” Tszyu (21-0, 15 KOs) is ready to extract some pain and punishment in his next ring outing. He was originally set to face undisputed 154-pound champion Jermell “Iron Man” Charlo on January 28. However, Charlo would suffer a broken hand, resulting in the postponement of their bout. Not wanting to be sidelined for an unknown period of time, the unbeaten fighter turned his attention to former WBC 154-pound champion Tony “Super Bad” Harrison (29-3-1, 21 KOs). Their fight is set to take place on March 12 in Australia. The bout will be for the WBO interim junior middleweight title.
TAKING SOONER OVER LATER
A supremely confident fighter, The Soul Taker, who’s ranked #1 in the WBC and WBO, let it be known that he’s ready to knock Harrison out. The #3 (WBO) and #2 (WBC) ranked contender currently stands in the way of his shot at undisputed supremacy.
He told fighthype.com the following:
“This guy was the next best available option, mandatory. It was, again, inevitable to fight him because he was mandatory for the title. So it was sooner rather than later, and why not get it done in the mean time before the Charlo fight? Look, I couldn’t care less who’s in front of me; I’m ready to take them out.”
The confidence of Tszyu is to be respected. Still, Harrison is a former champion with good power, boxing skills, and experience. This by no means should be viewed as anything other than a legitimate, dangerous fight that either man can win.
It’s going to be very interesting to see how this fight plays out, with the winner likely moving on to a fight with Jermell Charlo later this year.
