Bradley Makes the Case For Lomachenko Overcoming Tank Davis

Hall of Fame Inductee Timothy Bradley doesn’t believe WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (Abdul Wahid) is going to have an easy time with IBF champion Vasyl “Loma” Lomachenko. In addition, he feels Loma can defeat the Baltimore power-puncher.

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum informed the boxing world that talks with Tank’s team to fight the IBF champion were being planned out. Boxing fans were skeptical that the fight would happen. Yet, the WBA champion expressed that Lomachenko was in for a spanking, following his knockout of Frank Martin. Some fans believe Tank won’t have much of a problem defeating the Ukrainian.

PUMP THE BRAKES

With most of the general public counting Loma out, Bradley reminded people why they shouldn’t.

“I still think that the [more] experienced Lomachenko, he has what it takes; he can defeat Tank. He got to steer clear of getting caught with that big shot . . . by twisting on angles and staying low and getting the hell out of the way of that uppercut or anything that Tank brings, he has a chance of winning the fight.”

“He has the gas tank, he has the knowledge, he has the experience, the championship pedigree – he’s seen it all, even at his old age. And if he got one more fight left in him, one more good one left in him, it gotta be on that night against Tank.”

Bradley makes some very valid points. Davis hasn’t faced anyone with the ring IQ like Lomachenko, who despite being 36 years old, is still a top-tier champion. In his last tour in the ring, Loma laid waste to one-time unified champion George Kambosos. He fought as if he had gone back in time to retrieve his younger self.

Until an official announcement is made, all that fans and pundits can do is wait.
