Sanchez Remains Undefeated After Stopping Palomores
In a good featherweight showdown, Prospect Tito Sanchez (14-0, 8KO) scored an impressive stoppage against veteran Edwin Palomares (18-5-3, 9KO).
The crafty veteran, Palomares, attacked early and fought behind the jab. He frustrated the undefeated prospect with body shots and a relentless flurry of punches.
Both fighters engaged in close-quarter combat in the early rounds. Palomares kept the pressure on by staying in Sanchez’s chest landing hard body shots.
After receiving a heavy tongue-lashing from trainer Joel Diaz, Sanchez finally picked things up in the fourth round. He landed hard shots to the body and connected with the straight left hand. However, the Californian had a bloody nose as a result of keeping the head on the centerline.
Then in round nine Sanchez flipped the switch and landed a punishing right hand that seriously hurt the Mexican. He went into beast mode and landed a few more hard shots as Palomares crumbled to the canvas.
The referee quickly waved off the fight as Sanchez’s power helped protect his undefeated record.
