Tyson Fury Has No Interest in Facing Usyk for Undisputed
On October 28, three days before Halloween, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury (33-0-1, 24 KO’s) will take on UFC star Francis Ngannou. While there is certainly a market for this brand of hybrid fight, for many boxing fans, this is a nightmare. That’s because boxing enthusiasts would love to see Fury take on unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KO’s) to crown an undisputed champion.
Sadly, to this point in time, The Gypsy King has shown the same disdain for this fight as a Rasta for the barber chair. Fury even walked away when Team Usyk agreed to take a staggeringly small percentage to get the fight made. Now, while promoting his duel with Ngannou, the WBC champion doubled down on his anti-Usyk sentiments.
“There’s a lot of bitches – AJ [Anthony Joshua], [Oleksandr] Usyk, [Deontay] Wilder, [Andy] Ruiz. I classify them all as bitches now! They’ve all had the opportunity to fight the GK and all turned it down for whatever reason, so good luck to them! Now they are in the past!”
YOU’RE MY ASSISTANT PIMP!
In all honesty, Fury did leave a caveat open for the Usyk fight to take place. Therefore, provided that Usyk takes a puny purse home, The Gypsy King would consider facing the Ukrainian fighter. Although, this is a quizzical statement since Usyk agreed to do just that six months ago.
“Should the little sausage want to fight for the undisputed, then he takes a small percentage, then we might make it happen. But if he wants a bag, then I am going to say eh [no]!”
With there being an established lightweight, welterweight, super welterweight and super middleweight undisputed champion, it’d be a shame if we couldn’t get an undisputed heavyweight champion. Especially when it is just one fight away! So, let’s hope for the sake of the fans that, following his prizefight with Ngannou, Fury’s hops in a ring with Usyk to settle this matter once and for all. No matter what happens with The Gypsy King in his next bout, stick close to 3Kings Boxing for all things boxing!
