Tyson Fury Considering Surgery Following Chisora Fight
After his one-sided beatdown over world title challenger and longtime contender Derek “War” Chisora (33-13, 23 KOs), WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) revealed surgery may be next for him. Fury, who won easily as expected, is expected to face undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) in 2023.

In his post-fight interview, Fury revealed that he suffered right elbow and hand injuries.
“I sort of fucked my hands up tonight on Derek’s big head. I’ve got some elbow problems; I may have surgery on my right elbow. I had the left one back in October, after the Wilder Three fight. So it’ll take six to eight weeks to heal.”
Obviously, injuries are part of the sport, and hearing Fury say he may have to have surgery next is concerning. However, if the injuries aren’t significant, and the six to eight weeks timeline he mentioned is true, then fans can breathe easier.
Regardless, we here at 3 Kings Boxing will continue to monitor the story and provide updates as they become available.
