Oleksandr Usyk Only has Eyes for Undisputed Fight with Tyson Fury!
Yet again, unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13KOs) outclassed two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22KOs). The favorite going into this rematch, Usyk, who had the weight of his country, Ukraine, on his shoulders as they continue their war with Russia, managed to put all of that to the side for a dominant repeat performance over Joshua.
The holder of three belts, the only one left to capture is the coveted WBC title, which is occupied by Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury (32-0-1, 23KOs). While that’s the fight to make, it may not happen as Fury has yet again retired. The Gypsy King quickly retired after briefly considering a third fight with Derek Chisora.
As for Usyk, he doesn’t believe Fury one bit. He has expressed his desire to only fight the 6’9 champion for all of the belts in his post-fight interview.
“I’m sure that Tyson Fury is not retired yet. I’m sure, I’m convinced he wants to fight me. I want to fight him, and if I’m not fighting Tyson Fury, I’m not fighting at all. “
UNDISPUTED OR NOTHING?
With that statement, Usyk laid down his rules. It’s either undisputed or nothing at all. The 35-year-old has already become an undisputed champion as a cruiserweight, and he’s looking to duplicate that in the most prestigious division in boxing. To sum things up simply, both he and Fury are the best heavyweights in the world and this fight needs to happen!
