Welborn vacates British middleweight title.
British middleweight champion Jason Welborn (24-6, 7 KOs) has decided to vacate his title rather than face unbeaten power puncher Mark Heffron (21-0, 17 KOs).
Originally, they were to fight on December 22 on the undercard of Warrington vs Frampton.
Heffron’s promoter Frank Warren, has stated the unbeaten prospect will still fight for the title. However, his opponent for the now vacant belt has not been decided.
The former champion served as a step up in competition for the young Heffron. It’ll be interesting to see who they find for his replacement.
