Deontay Wilder Takes Shot at Showtime
Look at how quickly things can change in a relationship.
It seems as if everything was going well between WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and Showtime. However, now that Wilder’s next fight will be televised by Fox instead of Showtime, truer feelings have come to the surface.
After officially announcing his upcoming rematch with Luis Ortiz set to go down on November 23, Wilder responded to a question from Ray Flores regarding whether or not he was the beneficiary of an extra 2-3 seconds in round 7, a round in which he was badly hurt.
“The only way people ran away with that narrative is because Showtime commentary, Paulie Malignaggi, you know. When people do commentary, people that don’t understand boxing, people from the outside looking in can only hear the so-called experts.”
“That can be a narrative painted. Even with the lead up of Farhood’s scorecard, things can be painted in people’s minds, like oh this really is. What’s a two second, three second that ain’t no fucking break! Excuse my language but I’m passionate, okay. When you’re a warrior, what kind of break is that? That’s like taking a deep breath when somebody end their life. He took his last breath, I didn’t take my last breath. I continued as a champion.”
It’ll be interesting to see if the outspoken Paulie Malignaggi responds to the equally outspoken Wilder.

I missed that, and have no idea what the Hell Wilder is crying about now. Besides the fact that Paulie sounds like a kid who’s nuts haven’t dropped yet, annoying voice, he seems to be one of the better former fighters calling fights right now. I think he’s better than Ward, Bradley, Jones, Leonard, Lennox and for sure better than Hopkins. Basically, with Sean O’Grady hiding from the world, Paulie is probably the best. So what’s Wilders beef? Wilder needs to focus on finding a jab, some fundamentals, because he looks like an over rated tough man out there. His best fight was his first fight vs Stiverne, when he won the title. Since then he has become Windmill Wilder, just swinging for the fences. Bombs away…Joshua, Ruiz and Fury are all better than Wilder. Efe Ajagba and Daniel Dubois are better than Wilder, they’re both just too green to get in there with Wilder today. But give them both another 18 months, or 6-7 fights and they’ll be ready. I guarantee you Efe and Daniel are better than Wallin, and that guy just went 12 hard rounds with the fake Lineal champion, Flabby Fury…Dudes such a joke….lol
