Yan Santana Looks Impressive With A Victory Over Eduardo Baez
Featherweight hard-hitting prospect Yan “Dangerous” Santana (13-0, 12KO) made easy work of veteran Eduardo “El Gemelo” Baez (23-7-2, 9KO).
Living up to the alias Dangerous, Santana hit Baez with repeated hard shots to the body and head. In addition, his use of the jab to set up other shots shows ring IQ beyond his years.
Being a former world title challenger, Baez refused to give up and responded with solid uppercuts and shots to the body. Yet, he was rocked several times by those counterhooks.
Realizing El Gemelo couldn’t avoid those hard shots, Santana turned up the heat and dropped the Mexican with painful left hooks. Although Baez got back up, the referee stopped the fight after watching Santana land a hard three-punch combination.
What makes this victory for the undefeated prospect impressive, is he became the second man to stop Baez. The only other person to do so was multi-divisional champion Emanuel Navarrete. In a fight that was supposed to be a step up to get in some rounds, Santana laid waste to Baez in four rounds.
