Yokasta Valle vs Anabel Ortiz Set for November 4

Unified minimumweight champion Yokasta “Yoka” Valle (29-2, 9KO) is staying true to her promise of being an active fighter, as she prepares for a homecoming fight against two-time champion Anabel “Avispa” Ortiz (33-5, 4KO).

Following a successful title defense against Maria Santizo on September 16, Yoka revealed to the fans in attendance that she would be returning to the ring on November 4. While the opponent was initially undisclosed, it was confirmed that the fight would take place in her home country of Costa Rica.

Golden Boy Promotions, the promotional company for the unified champion, announced Ortiz as the opponent on social media.

Avispa is a former opponent of Valle’s rival unified champion, Seniesa Estrada. In 2021, she lost the WBA title to Estrada before experiencing another defeat against Marlen Esparza for the WBC flyweight title later that year.

In 2022, a rematch with Estrada for the title was on the horizon, but the fight never materialized. Ortiz is currently on a two-fight winning streak and will step into the ring for the first time this year.

Yoka has been on a quest for undisputed status with Estrada, and it’s highly anticipated that these two formidable women will cross paths in the ring, potentially in 2024. Until then, all eyes will be on the unified champion as she fights live in Costa Rica, with the action available for streaming on DAZN.
