Zhang Thoughts On Possible Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Fight

Top heavyweight contender Zhilei “Big Bang” Zhang (27-2-1, 22KO) doesn’t believe Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury vs Anthony “AJ” Joshua is no longer a huge meaningful fight.

While two-time world champion Fury (34-2-1, 24KO) lives in denial about a second loss to unified champion Oleksandr Usyk, there are talks about him facing another former champion in Joshua (28-4, 25KO).

THE FIGHT LOST IT’S LUSTER

Considering The Gypsy King and AJ are no longer champions, some fans believe this fight is only important to the fans in the United Kingdom. While speaking with Seconds Out, Big Bang threw in his two cents on why the fight doesn’t have the same meaning when asked.

“I don’t think that means a lot in terms of belts and championships. That fight has been talked about for years. When both of them had belts they were talking about it, and now none of them have belts, they’re still talking about it.

“But I think it’s a good way to see who one of the best heavyweights is in the U.K. Other than that, I don’t really see the meaning of that fight.” – Zhilei Zhang via translation

Zhang has a point when considering how the two British fighters looked in their last outings. In the second Usyk fight, Fury’s reaction time was slower than in the first fight. The two-time champion couldn’t seem to get out of the way of the left hand in the later rounds.

Joshua suffered a brutal fifth-round knockout at the hands of IBF champion Daniel Dubois. Fans believe he is a shot fighter that can no longer take a punch.

In this author’s opinion their fight wouldn’t determine the best fighter in the United Kingdom, that honor should go to Dubois right now. Furthermore, I question if it’s still a big fight in the eyes of the British fans considering they both are coming off bad losses.
