Gabriela Alaniz Positioned to Unify with IBF Champion Yudica Next!

In woman’s boxing, the divisions are starting to heat up with unifications and undisputed fights emerging onto the scene. The flyweight division is ready to explode as all eyes will be on WBO champion “La Chucky” Gabriela Celesta Alaniz (13-0, 5KO) facing multi-divisional title challenger Debora “La Pantera” Rengifo (18-9-1, 10KO) on September 24.

La Chucky is putting a lot on the line in her first title defense. Provided she retains the title, a possible unification against IBF champion Leonela Paola Yudica (18-0-3, 1KO) could be next. The two Argentinian champions could fight each other next in a unification with undisputed as the final destination bout.

A MAJOR UNIFICATION SHOULD BE NEXT

Alaniz wrestled the title away from Tamara Demarco when the corner threw in the towel in the seventh-round back in June. Yudica has been the longest reigning champion of the division since 2014 and recently stepped into the ring after a ten-month layoff against Lucia De Los Angeles Ruiz on September 17.

La Chucky is returning to the place where she captured the title at Club Ferro Carril Midland. The fans will undoubtedly pack the arena to show their support. If she is successful against Rengifo, then there is nothing standing in the way of the unification with Yudica.

Unified champion Marlen Esparza will also be paying attention to Alaniz’s fight as she has expressed interest in wanting to fight for undisputed.
