Albert Ramirez Annihilates Marko Calic With Ease
Top five light heavyweight contender Albert Ramirez (20-0, 17KO) blew out Marko Calic (15-2, 9KO) in three rounds.
The Venezuelan took over the fight after a slow start in the beginning round. It was lion versus lamb as Ramirez came out firing hard shots that put Calic on wobbly legs early.
In round three, Ramirez landed a right hand that put Calic on wobbly legs. He landed several power punches which sent the Croatian to the canvas.
Despite getting back up, Calic was put back on the canvas by a punishing right hook. The referee waved off the fight after receiving word from the ringside doctor.
It was a solid performance by Ramirez who hopes to challenge for a world title this year. In this author’s opinion, he should fight someone within the top ten before receiving a title shot. Names like Anthony Yarde, Zach Parker, or former champion Jean Pascal would make for good fights.
