Algieri ready to make a comeback!

Former WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri is on the comeback trail after being out of the ring for two years.

So what was the New York native doing in that time? He had become the nutritionist for several fighters; most notably former WBA regular middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs.

For his return bout, he’ll be facing Angel Hernandez (13-11-2, 8 KOs) November 30 in Huntington, New York at junior welterweight.

He was last seen in a losing effort against current IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence by fifth round stoppage in April of 2016.

Algieri also re-signed with long-time promoter Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing.

It’ll be interesting to see what the 34 year-old has left in the tank. Can he can make another run in the division he captured his first and only title in? We’ll have more information to answer that question come November 30!
