Plant Squashes his Beef with Jermall Charlo; Still Seeks a Fight

In a rather disjointed recent session going live, WBC middleweight champion Jermall “Hit Man” Charlo (33-0, 22 KO’s) breached a few hot topics. After alleging that he had a September bout with Saul “Canelo’ Alvarez, Charlo extended a heartfelt apology to former super middleweight champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant (22-2, 13 KO’s).

Clearly, Plant was not overly committed to maintaining the animosity. This sticky chapter of their story began when both were backstage at the Terence Crawford vs Errol Spence Jr. weigh-in. After trading a few words, Hit Man tugged on Plant’s facial fur and in response Sweethands popped him with a swift open palm. To make matters worse, not only were there witnesses at hand, the slapping portion of the incident was caught on tape.

DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR

If being honest, even on the day of the incident, Plant was the most invested in saving face in front of his wife and FOX Sports reporter Jordan Plant, formerly Jordan Hardy. Outside of maintaining his manhood, Sweethands didn’t come off as overly invested in harboring any lingering ill-feelings. For as long as Plant has been a visible figure in the boxing world, all he has called for is the biggest and best fights to strengthen his legacy.

Bearing this in mind, obviously Plant is still willing to test his might with Charlo. Yet, like many in the general boxing populace, it is evident that there are a number of unresolved issues in Hit Man’s personal life that need to be rectified. Once done, the one-time 168-pound champ versus the current 160-pound champ is a ferocious fight.

Admittedly though, and obvious enough, Jermall Charlo has to once again dazzle in the ring rather than merely exist in his next duel. So let’s see if Hit Man can get his ship back on track, if he does, then we should have a great match on our hands!
