Demetrius Andrade Eyes a 2023 Fight with Caleb Plant!
It goes without question that the business of boxing is conducted on a hairy and treacherous play field. So, it should come as no surprise that right after a fighter’s victory, his direct competitors find themselves in an intense feeding frenzy. Such was the case when one-time IBF super middleweight champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant (22-1, 13 KO’s) bested his latest opponent, Anthony Dirrell. Following the chilling one-punch knockout that felled Dirrell in the ninth, two-division champion Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade (31-0, 19 KO’s) was quick to express his interest in facing Plant.
SWING AND A…
While still in attendance at Plant’s match, Andrade gave his two-cents about colliding with Plant to Fight Hype.
“Yeah, I would definitely like it! I want to get in the ring and get a little rust off and then, in 2023, get in there with Plant, for sure!”
Andrade has recently finalized his decision to take his talents to the super middleweight division. In doing so, many are viewing it as him sidestepping a fight with talented, but largely under the radar fighter Janibek Alimkhanuly. Provided that Boo Boo did secure a prizefight with the Sweethands, that would be a great way to enter the division.
Time will tell the tale, but if going by the historical track record, Andrade doesn’t have the best luck when it comes to penning the big fights! Let’s just hope that the winds of fortune blow in his direction this time around.
