Anthony Joshua Denies Settling Deal To Take Step-Aside Money!
Recently, there have been rampant talks, stories and posts suggesting that former unified heavyweight Anthony “AJ” Joshua (24-2, 22 KO’s) is on the verge of accepting step-aside money to allow WBC champ Tyson Fury to take on current unified champ Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KO’s) instead of pursuing a rematch against Usyk.
Since losing his titles to the Ukrainian, however, AJ has only publicly vowed to get his belts back. Outside of shopping around for a new trainer, Joshua has largely been quietly grinding away in the lab.
Nevertheless, having been separated from his titles, there was a great push to get the newly crowned champion in the ring with Fury (31-0-1, 22 KO’s). Naturally, that fight would have determined the undisputed champion of the division. With the importance of a unification bout being what it is, Joshua did admit briefly thinking about getting out the way.
Yet the thought was not set in stone. In fact taking step-aside money, as told by AJ, violated his own code as a fighter. Now, for whatever reason, a storm of stories and social media posts are going up swearing on a stack of Bibles that Joshua is inches away from accepting step-aside money

Unwilling to allow the baseless chatter to continue unchecked, Joshua has taken to his own social media to quell the disinformation!
“I see certain interviews that quote what I’ve said, and I think to myself, ‘I ain’t done no interviews! Where did this person get their information from?’
“I’m hearing people saying ‘AJ accepts $15 million to step aside.’ I ain’t signed no contract! I ain’t seen no contract. So as it stands, stop listening to the bullshit, until it comes from me! I’m the man in control of my destiny, I’m the man that handles my business. I’m a smart individual. I make calculated decisions every step of the way.
“Don’t listen to the bullshit from other sources. If I tell you something, then you know it’s real.”
Now that AJ has spoken to the boxing word from the horse’s mouth, hopefully all the confusing and contradictory stories will come to an end! It will also be great if we were able to get some official fight dates for these heavyweight titans are going to hop back in the ring.
