Bob Arum’s 2020 Plans for Terence Crawford
Legendary promoter Bob Arum is an iconic figure in the sport of boxing. Fighters such as Muhammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Oscar Dela Hoya and Manny Pacquiao have all fought under his promotion.
His latest prized fighter is arguably the best in business today! That man is Terence “Bud” Crawford, whose accolades include being a three-division world champion, the undisputed champion at 140, and currently staking claim to the WBO welterweight strap. The Omaha, Nebraska native returns on December 14 in New York City at The Madison Square Garden.
While hardcore boxing fans know how special Crawford truly is, the casual boxing fan doesn’t. Blessed with supreme boxing ability, athleticism and power, the unbeaten star needs that push! A push that Arum is apparently ready to give him when 2020 rolls around. In an interview with Fight Hype, Arum revealed big plans for Crawford.
CRAWFORD GOING INTERNATIONAL?!
“My dream is to have Crawford fight in Africa. I don’t know why, I just think Terence would love that and it would be great for his image.”
Arum isn’t a stranger to taking his big name fighters off American Soil into foreign territory. He’s done it four times with Manny Pacquiao, who has fought Chris Algeri and Brandon Rios both in Macau, Jeff Horn in Australia, and Lucas Matthessye in Malaysia.
First things first, Crawford has to defeat a tough, unbeaten Egidijus Kavaliauskas (21-0-1, 17KOs) on December 14.
