Super middleweight contender Avni Yildirim fails VADA Test!
It appears former super middleweight title contender Avni Yildirim (21-2, 12KO) has squandered a potential title shot opportunity. He was in line to face David Benavidez who regained his WBC title against Anthony Dirrell on September 28.
However, another case of a failed VADA test becomes apparent, this time involving the fighter from Turkey!
The substance in question is methylclostebol, which is an orally active anabolic-androgenic steroid. This PED isn’t really a designer or new substance, with use of the drug dating back to the 1960s. The adverse sample was collected on September 13 and VADA reported the finding on September 26.
Therefore, pending the appeal process and B sample testing Yildirim will most likely face a suspension and lose his number one ranking with the WBC.
The Turkish super middleweight was last seen losing a technical decision in a vacant title bout opportunity against Anthony Dirrell in February!
