Is Arnold Barboza Preparing to Face Haney in Place of Garcia?
Junior welterweight contender Arnold Barboza Jr. (29-0, 11KO) suggested that “King Ry” Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20KO) is not fighting WBC champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (31-0, 15KO).
Barboza is buzzing all over social media with two cryptic videos that have gone viral. He posted a training video with a message that made boxing fans raise their eyebrows.
Next, he posted a video that confirms, at the very least, he will be fighting on April 20. He is standing next to famous Mexican singer Arturo Gonzalez, aka El Panter Belico, who delivered a message to the fans.
“I’m accompanying my friend Barboza to the ring on April 20th.”

WHO CAN WE BELIEVE?
This has boxing fans wondering if King Ry has pulled out of the fight. He has been acting strange all over social media, which has brought up the question of his mental state of mind. Yet, Garcia assured fans that it was a ploy and that he was trolling.
It is worth mentioning that King Ry’s father, Henry Garcia, earlier responded to a fan’s question by claiming that his son is indeed fine.
“Ryan is ok. He is just rolling the wrong way.”

Barboza claims to be in the co-main event of the showdown featuring Haney versus Garcia. He told the media an opponent hasn’t been announced, in case he has to step in for his fellow stablemate.
In his last outing, the Californian made statement in his debut under the Golden Boy umbrella against Xolisani Ndongeni. Keep in mind that where there is smoke, there is fire.
Whether all this is a promotional trick or not, one thing is for sure: everything surrounding Haney versus Garcia has captured the boxing world’s full attention.
