Arnold Barboza Jr Wants a Title Fight at Junior Welterweight Next
Top junior welterweight contender Arnold Barboza Jr (28-0, 10 KOs) feels there is nothing left to prove. For his next fight, he is calling for a title fight or any of the top guys in the division.
On February 3, Barboza Jr had to go through the fire to earn a victory against two-division champion Jose “Sniper” Pedraza. The young contender was cruising at the beginning of the fight and had to grind it out in the second half as the cagey veteran picked up the pace.

The term “trial by fire” definitely applied here as Barboza Jr survived his biggest test. Now it’s time to go looking for glory against bigger names.
BARBOZA’S HIT LIST
During the post-fight interview, Barboza did not hesitate to drop some names, when asked who he wanted to fight next.
“I think I’ve paid my dues. I think I’ve already proven enough I want a title shot. Regis (Prograis, WBC champion), (Alberto) Puello (IBF champion), or the winner of the IBF (Jeremias Ponce vs Subriel Matias), or Taylor, the WBO.
If I can’t get them, everybody knows who I want. Teofimo (Lopez), for sure. If I can’t get him, give me Jose Ramirez. I want a top guy in my next fight – got to be a top guy.”
Barboza Jr is looking to make the most of this year and is ready to take on anyone.
