Baumgardner Seeking to Wedge Taylor and Chantelle Cameron

Undisputed junior lightweight champion Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner (15-1, 7KO) is campaigning for a fight with undisputed junior welterweight champion Katie “KT” Taylor (23-1, 6KO) while rooting against a trilogy with one-time undisputed champion Chantelle Cameron.

The boxing news cycle was thrown into a frenzy when Cameron revealed the trilogy with Taylor is off. Furthermore, she blamed KT for being the reason the fight wouldn’t happen and that her arch-rival would be fighting someone else.

STEP ASIDE PLEASE

Looking to return to the ring, The Bomb took to social media with a message that Cameron may not like.

“Respectfully. We don’t want a third fight. #TaylorBaumgardner”

It isn’t the first time she has called for a fight with the undisputed junior welterweight champ. After avenging the only defeat of her career against Christina Linardatou in July 2023, Baumgardner called out Taylor, Cameron, and Amanda Serrano.

The Ohio native had to sit out for the remainder of the year dealing with of allegations of a failed test for a banned substance. The WBC has cleared her of any wrongdoing and she is eager to get back into the ring.

The question remains: would she be willing to go up to junior welterweight for the fight? Despite claims that Taylor is taking a stay-busy fight, she still holds the lightweight titles with the WBC and WBA.

If Baumgardner wants the fight, she may have to go up two weight divisions. She won’t have any problems making a jump up to any weight class for a fight of this magnitude.
